HENRY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

Visual & Performing Arts Magnet School

Henry Elementary School is unique in it's own right. This school is located in Rialto CA and is one of the only schools to offer programs supporting arts, music and theater in the district.

The curriculum at Henry as developed an intergration of math and music. Students are encuraged to reach their full potential both artistically and educationally. As the school administration continues developing new programs, the funding to excecute these ideas is hopeless without proper funding and support.

In order to improve learning conditions and musical arts, this elementary is in need of cosmetic enhancements and new instruments. Things such as a school marquee, cafeteria, and auditorium are also among a list of wishes that the administration has for this school.

The Drop in Jazz Festival was held on April 25th 2015, in partnership with the Rialto City Mayor, Deborah Robertson to raise funds at this event that will contribute toward the enhancements and instruments the school is in need of.

HANDS ON TRAINING WITH THE RIALTO FIRE DEPARTMENT

The Fire Explorers are sponsored by the Rialto Fire Department and Learning for Life. This program teaches individuals  the necessary skills needed to RIDE the engines. Applicants can be expected to learn all aspects of the Fire Department - training, and day-to-day operations and perform most of the training maneuvers alongside professional Rialto Fire Fighters.

Explorers must be 14 years old to enter the Ride Program in combination with a 2.5 GPA or higher and maintain this GPA throughout the entire duration of the Explorer Program. This RIalto Fire Explorers Post has attended the Inland Empire Explorer Academy for the past several years.

Academies include education and hands on training in Auto Extrication, Wildland Firefighting, Structure Fires, Confined Space Rescue and Hazardous Materials Training. Our group has won several trophies and awards in Musters and Fire Training Competitions and has been seen on local television, in numerous newspapers and in Rialto City parades.

RYC donated $2,000 in 2014 to assist with traveling accommodations for Fire Training Competitions and will continue to raise money in assisting future opportunities to come.

FIT 4 KIDS

OVERCOMING CHILDHOOD OBESITY ONE CHILD AT A TIME

Fit4Kids provides youth ages 7-14 years old with free fitness training and nutrition education that can help them overcome obesity, develop healthy habits, and build confidence. The main goal is to improve the health and well-being of participants, and instill health and fitness life skills in the youth to be carried on into adulthood.

In 2014, the Rialto Youth Collaborative sponsored new equipment along with helping hands during voluntary opportunities for special events benefiting the various programs. RYC will continue contributing towards reaching the goals for the children in the Fit4Kids programs.

PRIDE RESPECT INTEGRITY DISCIPLINE ENTHUSIASM

The PRIDE program is specifically designed to deal with “at-risk” youth.  It utilizes proactive and innovative techniques for positive redirection.  Overseen by Rialto Police personnel, the 14-week program offers treatment, prevention, and disciplinary components to alter negative behavior. The PRIDE program concentrates on high school aged juveniles who are referred to the program through the courts, probation, schools, parents, or other references.

The objective of the program is to identify problems within a family that have surfaced through juvenile delinquency. Juveniles in high school and in junior high school with antisocial behavior such as truancy, incorrigibility, minor law violations, etc., may be considered for the program.

Law enforcement plays a major role in the intervention and overall development of the participants as they are often the first to make contact with “at-risk” youth .The PRIDE program is designed to redirect “at-risk” juveniles to partner with the positive influences of law enforcement officers as well as other professionals, rather than the negative influence of gang cultures and criminal elements.

The Rialto Youth Collaborative has contributed towards this program by sponsoring classroom tools to sustain the qualities of learning along with funding fencing for outdoor training facilities.

The Rialto Youth Collaborative proudly supports these youth organizations

through our fundraising efforts, donations and voluntary assistance.

EISENHOWER HIGH SCHOOL

THE Jazz & MARCHING BANDS.

Eisenhower High School's Jazz and Marching bands are exceptional. These bands have won countless high school band competitions locally, performed at Disney's California Adventure and more.

Currently, the bands are eager to accept an amazing opportunity to perform in Washington D.C. This annual invitation has been unanswered year after year due to lack of funds for the entire band and staff to pay for travel costs. This year, the Rialto Youth Collaborative will develop various fundraising events to assist in making this dream a reality.

On April 25th, 2015, RYC in partnership with Rialto City Mayor Deborah Robertson, we hosted the 3rd annual "Drop In" Jazz Festival to raise funds for Eisenhower's bands along with other local performing arts schools and programs.

RIALTO SCHOOL DISTRICT QUALIFIED HONOR ROLL STUDENTS

In Spring 2014, the Rialto Youth Collaborative announced the first annual Honor Roll Scholarship opportunity. This scholarship was offered to students in the Rialto School District who successfully maintained honor roll status during the 2013-2014 school year.

The donation offered to  qualified students is an opportunity to participate in a Rialto City Recreation Sport or Special Class activity for free. We believe that encouraging students to excel in academics with extra curricular activity incentives keeps these students focused and driven towards success.

Multiple students were awarded with this exciting opportunity last year, and it is our goal to offer the same incentives for honor roll students during the 2014-2015 school year as well.
